Re-skilling for Research Support
‘Reskilling for Research’ is a one-day workshop being offered through ALIA Training. The course is for information professionals who support researchers. These web pages provide the support material for the course.
The 2012 RLUK Re-skilling for Research Report found that library staff need to feel confident and skilled to deliver support to researchers in a responsive and relevant way. Librarians supporting researchers are often lacking the required skills and knowledge and that there is a lack of training opportunities for them. This course is a small attempt by one research librarian to share her knowledge with others.
Areas covered in the workshop:
1) Analysis of researchers’ scholarly information and training needs
2) Supporting the publication process
3) Social media for researchers
4) Managing stuff – tips and tools for managing information and data
5) Training and support programs for researchers
Upcoming dates for ‘open’ workshops:
- Can be customised for in-house delivery for librarians or researchers
